El campo de batalla de la mente, is a wonderful book. Ocassionaly as christian people we can think that we are perfect and that all we have to do is to pray and persevere. The Bible says that our "struggle is not against flesh and blood...but against the power of the dark world and against spiritual forces", therefore our battles will be spirituals. When I read this book I could realized that our behavior is showing "who" is winning our inside battle and why we should give God the opportunity to struggle instead of us and through our lifes. I suggest that this book should be read more than once, really.
El campo de batalla de la mente es un libro maravilloso. Como cristianos podemos pensar que somos perfectos y que todo lo que tenemos que hacer es orar y perseverar. Pero la Biblia establece que "nuestra lucha no es contra carne ni sangre...sino contra las tinieblas espirituales", por lo tanto nuestra lucha será espiritual. Al leer este libro pude crear conciencia de que nuestra conducta muestra "quién" está ganando nuestra lucha interna y cómo darle a Dios la oportunidad de que luche en lugar nuestro y a través de nuestras vidas. Este libro debe ser leído más de una vez, lo recomiendo.

Desde que comence a leerlo no podia soltar el libro. Todo lo que la autora expone absolutamente todo transformo mi vida. Doy gracias a Dios por contestar una gran peticion que yo tenia sobre como aprender mas sobre dominio propio. Este libro vino a mi vida y fue como un perfecto mapa de como yo dominar mis pensamientos y convertir mi mente en la mente de Cristo. Lo recomiendo muy favorablemente.

Conocí este libro a través de una amiga que está pasando por un dificil momento emocional. Me llamó poderosamente la atención y lo adquirí. Este es el tercer ejemplar que obsequio y que por otro lado he recomendado sin restricción.

Joyce Meyer introduce al lector en un mundo que muchos seguirdores de Cristo desconocen y es que el terreno de lucha espiritual se decide en nuestras mentes. No estamos en un campo neutro. O estamos de parte de Dios o del enemigo. No hay termino medio.

Cada capítulo nos introduce a un estado superior a fin de reconocer que tipos de pensamientos son los que ocupan nuestra mente: O son de Dios o son de Satanas. Lo mas interesante de todo, es que de una manera muy didactica, Meyer nos orienta a identificar tales pensamientos a fin de seguir los de procedencia Divina y rechazar o subyugar a El, los que inocula el enemigo.

Es una libro que debe ser leido mas de una vez, comentarse, digerirse, compartirse. No deje de hacerlo sin antes encomendarse a Dios en oración para que le oriente y le llene de entendimiento y sabiduría de lo alto. Se que este proceder mantendrá alejado al enemigo y será su mejor vía para que cada página, cada parráfo, cada frase y palabra pueda ser entendida.

Lo recomiendo ampliamente, incluso la versión para jóvenes. Satanas está atacando a los adolescentes despiadadamente y para ellos despliega información que va directamente a sus mentes con la finalidad de tergiversar el plan divino para cada uno de ellos.

Value, Strategy and Risk defines strategy within a value framework, placing particular emphasis on managing both the short and long term horizon within a dynamic business environment.

It starts with a recap of the evolution of strategy by mapping out the phases of firm innovation and the evolution of industry sectors, and progresses to the development of strategy from corporate planning methods to shareholder value.

The majority of the book is dedicated to in-depth accounting analysis, corporate finance theory and valuation concepts. The author's use of cases is valuable in identifying important themes and outlining effective analytics to evaluate these issues. Particularly relevant and current case studies include gas power generation and climate change/growth.

The quantitative section is a valuable guide that walks through the fundamentals of time series, distributions, volatility, derivatives, and the issues faced applying these methods.

The value of this book is not just the succinct summary of strategy, value and risk concepts, but the critical approach to applying these methods. I can now speak with confidence to my clients and their shareholders about where we have been, where we are now and where we are likely going with, read carefully here, not opinion but definitions and empirical data to back up conclusions. What is really important is that this book has no pretenses. The book is not for the academics. Rather, if you are a CEO, Board Officer, other executive suite confidant, or simply trying to take a $5mm business to the next level, you better understand the rules we play by.

Bible Prophesy Revealed

My Community Bible Study Teacher had often made the statement that the Book of Daniel in the Old Testament is the key to the rest of the Bible. Now, that was compelling enough for me to go home and read it. The history given in the beginning of the book was easy to understand, but the prophesy given from this book of the Bible was very complicated. I didn't get it at all. Then someone told me about Clarence Larkin, so I ordered several of his books including this one. As I read, I thanked God for his insights. His Book of Daniel explained everything in an easy readable way. It was his last of several bible teaching books. This Baptist Preacher was dying but held on until he finished his Book of Daniel. I'm thankful for that, because I am one who didn't understand, and now I do. And, by the way, my Bible Study Teacher had been right.

This is a must have book for every coffee/espresso enthusiast. It is the most comprehensive primer for all things brewed I have every come across as a professional barista. The information is presented in an easily accessible way while remaing thorough. It covered a wide range of information helpful to the professional and interesting to the connoisseur. The regional/country maps are a particular favorite of mine. It even introduced me to unusual methods and materials I had yet to discover in my coffee journey. If all of that wasn't enough, it is one of the go-to books in my shops professional development and resources library. It is well worth it weight in beans...I mean gold.

How to make a machine that makes honey

Thomas Seeley has written an amazing book that will work for many different types of readers at many levels. The book outlines experiments that Seeley did with prepared hives to demonstrate the system dynamics of how a hive adapts to the resources around it. Seeley's style is easy for a layperson to read with clear charts and pictures. This is a great book to savor; read a chapter, then daydream about how these creatures could be constructed to perform their functions.

I got a lot out of the book. First of all, it's a narrative of Seeley's experimental method; he labels a hive (puts the bees in a hive in a refrigerator, pulls them out one by one and puts identifying tags on each), sets up feeding stations with different concentrations of sugar at different distances, then observes behavior to demonstrate how individual variation in bees optimizes the hive's collection of resources. Second, it's a pretty good introduction to bee physiology and the hive's social system. Seeley describes experiments tracking the individual jobs of bees as they age and, in doing so, he covers how and what the bees do. Third, Seeley reviews and describes the previous literature, giving a history of behavioral study of bees. Finally, he develops his thesis regarding the hive as a system, with parallels to systems theory and studies of hierarchies of organization.

This is a fun read; easy to get through, thought provoking, giving you appreciation for the author's work and for the creatures that are his subject.

One Amazing Book about Bees

This is a special scientific book, for the author tells the reader not only WHAT we know about the inner workings of honey bee colonies, but also HOW we know it. Through simple but graceful writing, accompanied by many diagrams, Seeley takes you on a step-by-step journey through his experimental analysis of how the members of a bee colony work together to gather the nectar, pollen, and water that they need. I think anyone interested in seeing how a human has dissected the complex internal organization of a bee hive will find this a rewarding read. I especially liked chapter 6, where Seeley explains that the bees have several kinds of communication dances, not just the famous waggle dance, to activate more bees for making honey.

While I'd hate to do without most of my 50 plus books on bees and beekeeping, this book would be THE one I'd keep if I could have just one. Comprehensive information that is both fascinating and useful, clearly and even beautifully expressed. More books should retain the context of honey bee colony as social (super) organism.
