About the Author
Gilbert Mercier is a French journalist, photojournalist, on-air analyst, and filmmaker, who previously worked in Hollywood as a screenwriter, concept writer, director, producer and art director. He is the editor-in-chief of News Junkie Post and one of its founders. Mercier’s coverage of New Orleans in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina received international praise. Over the years, he has been a guest analyst on television and radio programs for RT (Russia Today), BBC World News, Progressive Radio Network, Sputnik, Al Hurra TV, and Radio Islam. Mercier’s articles have been republished by Alternet, Truthout, CounterPunch, Z Communications, Signs of the Times, Popular Resistance, and Global Research Canada, and quoted by news outlets including The Atlantic and MSNBC. In the early 1980s, Mercier hosted and produced “Performance,” a radio show in France. He has lived in the United States since 1983.

don't turn a blind eye and read this book!

we live in the year 2016...brutality, violence, corruption observed, estimated or imagined so far by others, not enough to comprehend what is happening now, today...There could be no acceptable reason to turn a blind eye except ignorance...we are in the void of despair, rapidly falling down to crash soon but we have not yet become aware of it..and there is a reason to this unaware state of mind.
Gilbert Mercier's book 'The Orwellian Empire' is the book one needs to unveil that curtain of escapism and focus on reality...reality, that we choose not to see, not to feel and not to fear...we choose not to know. and there is a reason for this state of mind that has been explained in this book!
I highly recommend 'The Orwellian Empire' to every single person not just to read it but more importantly to encourage others to read it as well. The worst thing that could ever happen to you is to say in the future, "I didn't know back then", "it was unknown to us", and "we didn't understand why all that was happening..." when your children ask you about the dead body of a three year old boy lying on the beach where people usually sun tan and have a holiday...don't escape from information and teach yourself and people around you to comprehend the violence happening in the year 2016. absence of knowledge will always lead to avoid asking question. don't turn a blind eye and read this book!

Mercier sees the world through eyes wide open

A book for everyone, a must read whatever your current political view.
Orwell offered fiction to introduce the public to a clear vision of the ways power was being used in their world. Mercier offers a book of reality to assure you, that no you are not insane, what you see is reality although the media tells a different story and everyone around you is buying into the myth. Orwell offered a picture of the fading British empire; Mercier offers the story of the declining American Empire with the reasons laid out in a well-organized presentation.
The Orwellian Empire is written with an engaging flow and American-style English, which is entirely fitting for the debacle we are now witnessing.
Open your mind to what the rest of the world knows and sees. Here is the definitive work on why the rest of the world is disgusted with the USA. Not the individual citizens, who they feel are good and kind, but the American power rolling over every continent leaving destruction in it wake.
Mercier is editor-in-chief of News Junkie Post and one of its founders and has a life-time of writing about the world as a reporter and journalist.
