Fun & enjoyable read for both adults and children!

Very enjoyable book for both adults and children. The humorously conveyed message of the book is that life will inevitably deal you a rough hand, most likely at a terrible time. (But when is there a "good" time for bird poop?) You can get mad or adapt. Great message, well communicated, fun illustrations. We're going to make this part of the bedtime reading rotation for our family. Excellent gift idea for the holidays.

I love this book! It has it all: It's funny, it has a great life lesson and the delightful illustrations draws howls of laughter from my kid and keeps her coming back to this book again and again... oh, and the word "poop" is in the title.

Charming and wonderful. This is precisely what you want in a Children's Book - one that is also funny and true for adults. The types of laughs in this book are the timeless ones and this book offers also those ideals that need to be revisited from time to time, like maybe at bedtime every night?, to keep us all, young and old alike, grounded and good-natured.

The pictures couldn't fit the words any better and vice versa. This collaboration between author and illustrator feels intertwined from the get go, almost like you can see how each influenced the other, and how much fun they had in creating this.

Well worth it!

As a person who has been playing straight forward chords for a while now, I found this book an eye opener. I can recommend this book to anyone who is serious about learning to fingerpick. The author literally takes you from "zero" to intermmediate. Included are some good techniques like slurs, hammer-ons and pulls-offs. You have to do your part though and practice the execrcises. I give this book a four because the English translation is not too good, but completely understandable. If you want to learn how to play songs on a guitar with a good baseline included, get this book.

Nick's English is a little rough, but his examples are great, they're plentiful, and he plays every one on YouTube. There are nearly 400 lessons, ranging from simple patterns to complete songs.

Support Nick, but not the on line version.

I enjoy Nick's YouTube postings and his website. I wanted to show a little support and bought the Kindle version of his book. It is all but unwatchable, the video examples are just links to YouTube, not much use if your not on line, and the tabs were awful. I may buy his paper book but I would warn people away from the E edition.

The future looks black for all of them while Fabian celebrates at their expense.

This is BDSM Fantasy at its best. Of course, the story is crazy and so is the pretext of a young woman going off to summer school and ending up as a surgically altered pony. But that is the essence of most of this kind of literature. You either like it or you don't. Some of the characters are really classic villains, such as the head mistress as she sits and observes Dori's torment and training on the mechanical horse, deep in the school's cellar. She puffs a cigar and makes sure that the two invaders on the saddle are well implanted in their warm homes. If such a person existed, she'd be famous and probably in jail. There are some funny scenes, such as when the head of the pig/sow department of the school gets involved in a three or four way with a student and her associates and the phone rings..... The After School novel is equally fun to read. It doesn't include Dori, but evil characters abound, such as the priest who visits a nunnery to play games with the captive young women and the young pilots who get to deliver a prisoner in a terrible storm. This is good escapist material. The writing is fine and the story has lots of twists and turns, but is easy to follow.

sexy, fun read with 2 great heroes and their ladies

First, LOVED the story. Now, the heroine, at first, is not a very likable heroine. She is 27, a pampered, spoiled, rich girl. She is self-centered, thoughtless, no regard for other's feelings or emotions. A party girl that thinks the world revolves around her and that everyone loves her. She has never accomplished a thing in her life. She has never stayed with a school, job, or engagement for over a few months. Bored, she moves on no matter what toes get stepped on. Her mummy and daddy are enablers giving in to her on every turn. Daddy's little girl gets her way by batting her eyelashes and charming him and other men. Not doing her any favors.

Finally, after her third broken engagement, after all the deposits were paid and dress paid for, mummy and daddy are forced to cut her off and tell her to make it on her own because they are through supporting her irresponsible behavior. Now she is faced with what to do with her life and how to make the big bucks!!! Money is always an issue with this girl, she must have the best of everything. She offends you at every turn. She winds up in Austin, Texas, opening her own business. It is the only thing she can do!!! However, let me mention here that NO ONE would wear suede shoes in Texas in the heat. Especially with a sundress!! This girl has a lot to learn.

There are a lot of very good love stories going on in this story. Not just the heroine and hero. Oh, and the hero is an ex-cop turned contractor that renovates homes and then sells or rents them out. You will love this guy!! All of that and a Texan to boot. Just doesn't get any better!! EXCEPT then we meet Rafe. Oh my goodness, this guy is every mother's nightmare, make that every mothers dream, every daddy's nightmare. He is sexy, smart and rides a big motorcycle. Oh, does he have it going on. Then the third love story involves two professionals, a little up-tight and by the book but even they have their moments.

As the story progresses the heroine becomes softer and softer. I think she was learning lessons and growing the way she should have. She still has her sexy sparkle she is just becoming more in tune with the world around her. The chemistry between her and her neighbor, ex-cop, is hot. I loved this story. The ending is especially fun and clever. I do think it should have come with a WARNING---never start a Nancy Warren book after 8 p.m. I did and at 3 a.m. when my eyes crossed and I dropped by Kindle for the third time I had to put it down. First thing I picked up the next day. It is that good. Great read, very entertaining. Thanks, Nancy, for a fun read. I really needed one!!!

Chloe Flynt isn't sure what she wants in life. She didn't want the three ex-finance's she had. She didn't want any of the careers she went to school for a short time. And she sure doesn't want to be cut off from Daddy's money. But sometimes a girl has to **cringe** grow up. So she headed to America to do the one thing she is good at. She is starting her own business as a break-up artist.

This book is unique. The reader hears from six different point of views of people connected in different ways. Chloe is very aristocratic British and ends up in Texas. A hunky landlord, a young woman at the mall, a scary looking thug...who isn't...and a couple of therapists. Most who Chloe sees are dating the wrong people and she'll do what she does best to fix that. Chloe's brother's story is in book three, Jack.

I laughed so hard and long so many times in this deliciously silly romp around Austin, TX. I could only be happy for Chloe that the spoiled rotten princess finally found a job which she enjoys and sticks with. She grew as a person within the book and I do love to see that. There were moments when I thought I knew what was going to happen, such as in the sleazy motel, that then slapped me upside the head with the way it actually turned out. Two parts that really had me guffawing at the mental images forming in my head were the wet jeans episode and the horse. Why, do I hear you asking? Well, dear one, you shall just have to read and find out for yourself.

Trusting Rio

I enjoyed the first book in this series, Asher's Mates. A Fey (Kat) is imprisoned and is rescued by his mate Asher, a blind wolf shifter. Fleeing and seeking sanctuary they head to a coven led by an ancient vampire, Ian. The three are mates and they uncover a conspiracy in the paranormal world and Cameron, someone close to them, is taken.

So this story, Trusting Rio, is a continuation of the characters in the first story. Cameron, a jaguar shifter, is still missing. Rio (Vampire) is doing everything he can to find him and in the midst of searching, a dream walker, Rio's mate Cass, appears. He helps with the search but he has his own limitations.

There's a larger cast of characters in this book and it took me awhile to reacquaint myself. Along with the background came a few misplaced words, two that I caught. Once Ian and Cass start interacting in person the story picked up.

Who knows how long Cass was imprisoned, seeking relief by escaping in astral form. His past is one where he's been taken advantage of and his trust and powers were abused. In short, his outlook on life is tainted, his family gone, and he only has himself to rely on. He wakes up from his rescue scared, distrustful, and can't think why mating will make his life any different. For such a powerful magic user, Cass is insecure. He withheld his concerns and needs from Rio and hides his true nature of being a submissive. Cass wasn't quite a wimpy clingy whiner but it was close at times.

Rio is a five hundred year old vampire, Ian's son. Of course he is an alpha in every sense of the word. He wants control in the bedroom and he loves to explore bondage games with his mate. Thankfully his alpha tendencies are balanced by his caring. The title Trusting Rio is just that - Giving heart, body, and soul into a mate's care and that is done thru trust and love.

SPOILER - Don't read unless you read the book -

The ending: So a soul is bound and it didn't die when the body does. The soul is connected to Rio and he grounds it within himself with his own soul. Okay. So when the mystical magical connect happens somehow Cass is able to astral project a physical body to where he can talk and physically interact with Rio and anyone else. Yet he died and his soul is housed with his magic in Rio. That is what I got out of it, who knows if my imagination led me in the right direction. It still doesn't make sense. I'd expect a ghost type being.

SPOILER OVER

I'll give this 3.5 stars because of some minor editing, choppy in the beginning with background information pouring out and disrupting the flow, and that ending that didn't sit right. And the odd thing is, throughout the story those around Rio are distrustful of Cass. They never opened up completely and accepted him. They were always a bit suspicious. So the ending should have had some acceptance of having Cass in their lives. It needed to happen, the clan and forming pack needed closure to Rio's suffering and a step towards healing. - Dan's Wife

Inheriting her father's love of paintings and museums and her mother's love of costumes and clothing, Liz early on discovered "the beauty of everyday things," and at the age of twenty won the Grand Award in the Harper's Junior Bazaar Design Contest, which earned her a trip to Paris to work for ten days with famed couturier Jacques Heim. For the next twenty-five years she worked as a designer and sketch artist before starting her own company with her husband Art Ortenberg. Liz Claiborne, Inc. was an immediate success, and was by 1981 a Fortune 500 company with $1.2 billion in sales.

In this book Art Ortenberg does not so much celebrate Liz Claiborne the designer and entrepreneur, but rather Liz the woman. "Liz left us more than her work," he concludes, "perhaps more than the consequences of her work; she left us herself. The making of that self, and the good she did for others, is the story I tell."

While the first half of Ortenberg's paean makes an able account of the duo's workaday life, the second half is dominated by Claiborne's slow, painful struggle with ovarian cancer, an exhaustive (and exhausting) account of horrors suffered that could discourage all but the most committed readers. Anyone and everyone in the fashion industry is familiar with Liz Claiborne fashion. Though are you familiar with the woman who created this successful fashion empire? Unless you were one of the few lucky ones who got to work with Liz then you don't really know who Liz is and was.

Liz Claiborne grew up always knowing exactly what she wanted to be...a fashion designer. She had a great fashion sense. In 1976, Liz started Liz Claiborne Inc. Sadly on June 26, 2007, Liz passed way from cancer. Even up to the very end, Liz was still smiling and a fighter.

In Liz Claiborne, the Legend, the Woman, author, business partner and Liz's husband, Art Ortenberg shares with readers just who Liz really was...a nice person, wife and entrepreneur with great smile and warm heart.

This book truly was a celebration of a Liz Claiborne. She was loved by many people The pictures inserted through out this book were a nice bonus. If you are looking to read this book expecting a memoir of Liz Claiborne and how she started out in the business and maybe learn a couple of interesting facts, then this may not be the book for you. The book rambles a lot,and is obviously written in grief. i was surprised to see that they met while married to others and seemed proud of it.
